Examination of Desires

 What do I really want?

The problem is, we often don’t really know.

There are several Christian traditions that look closely at our desires, and they don’t necessarily talk about it as a bad thing, either. The key is recognizing that we have desire, and then being able to identify its root. Is it from God or from our fallen nature?

The tool below can help determine the origin of your desire:

A Self-Inventory of Value & Worth

WHAT IS MY TRUE VALUE & WORTH?

The problem is, we all too often conflate our infinite value as the Imago Dei…

… with all other areas of our lives. The result is we either give ourselves too much credit, or too little. A shame-based mindset can really hamper our self-esteem in a discordant way with our identity as children of God. This can diminish our outlook, productivity, effectiveness, and sense of purpose in this world. Conversely, an inflated view of self can do just as much harm. An improper appraisal of our capacity and competency can often lead to injurious, humiliating, and even tragic, results.
